Every year, on March 8, we celebrate International Women's Day and recognize the power, potential, and strength of the world's 3.8 billion women.
In the world, 774 million adults are illiterate, and two-thirds of them are women. There are also 132 million girls out of school who represent over half of the children not attending school. Despite international and local efforts to promote gender equality and girl's education, it seems that there is still a lot of work to be done. Educating a girl empowers her to change her life and escape from the cycle of inequality.
We believe unlocking women and girls' potential is only possible if we ensure free quality education for all women and girls but foremost the right to acquire literacy skills as education starts with the ability to read and write.
