TOPIC: THE TRAGEDY OF FAITH FAILURE
Life is in danger when faith fails because the just shall live by his faith.
SCRIPTURE: And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Luke 22:31-32
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Life is in danger when faith fails because the just shall live by his faith.
Faith has been confirmed to be a critical necessity to the child of God. That is why our faith must be kept healthy and alive at all times and at all cost.
Faith must be prevented from failing because there is something called faith failure. Jesus Christ expressed the possibility of faith failure in Luke 22:32 when He told Peter, “…But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not…”
Faith failure, I believe, can be worse than a major organ failure. Faith failure is like the failure of a major organ like the heart, lung, liver or kidney.
Now, let us look at what can possibly be the resultant effects of faith failure:
1. The failure of faith puts life in danger
Life is in danger when faith fails because the just shall live by his faith (Habakkuk 2:4). So, when faith fails, life is dangerously at risk. Your faith must not fail because your life depends on your faith.
2. Victory is never in view when faith fails
1 John 5:4 says, For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
This means, defeat is a permanent feature of faith failure. When faith fails, people live, swim and revel in defeat. So, your faith must never be allowed to fail.
Beloved, my counsel to you today is, make up your mind to guard your faith against failure. Nurture your faith with the Word of God on a consistent basis.
Remember this: Life is in danger when faith fails because the just shall live by his faith.
