TOPIC:  THE POWER OF CONSISTENT PRAYER AND STUDY OF THE WORD

SCRIPTURE: But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. Acts 6:4

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be persistent is to keep on pressing on even if you seem not to see immediate results.

It has been confirmed that the ministry of prayer combined with the study of the Word of God is a vital ingredient for destiny fulfilment. 

The apostles gave themselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the Word (Acts 6:4). No wonder they turned their world upside down for God. 

One thing to know is that it is not occasional practice that guarantees results; rather, it is persistent practice that guarantees results. Please, note that the apostles gave themselves “continually” to prayer and the ministry of the Word. 

To be persistent is to keep on pressing on even if you seem not to see immediate results. When it appears as if you are not seeing results, just be persistent. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, pray without ceasing. 

This means, pray persistently, tenaciously, relentlessly and restlessly. When you keep on doing it consistently, then, a time would come when what you eat would begin to eat you up. 

The Amplified Version of Isaiah 10:27 says, 

And it shall be in that day that the burden of [the Assyrian] shall depart from your shoulders, and his yoke from your neck. The yoke shall be destroyed because of fatness [which prevents it from going around your neck].

This means, the yoke was put on your neck because your neck was thin, but when you begin to grow, you would become too fat for the yoke and the yoke would be destroyed because of fatness. It cannot go round your neck anymore. 

You see, there may be certain things you are suffering because your spirit man is thin but as you keep on studying and feeding on the Word of God, you would become too fat in the spirit and the yoke would break. 

My counsel is, maintain consistence in prayer and study of the Word of God. 

Remember this: To be persistent is to keep on pressing on even if you seem not to see immediate results.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to pray and study the Word of God consistently and persistently.

2. Discipline yourself to maintain the consistency and persistency of spiritual exercise.

EVIL MONEY – PROCEEDS OF Fraud (seed of Destiny)

SCRIPTURE: Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning. Leviticus 19:13.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Any money made from defrauding people or organizations is evil money.

We live in a world where people do all sorts of evil to get money without minding the consequences on others. You see, any kind of money gotten in unrighteous ways is evil money.

One example of evil money is proceeds of fraud. Any money made from defrauding people or organizations is evil money.
As a director or senior officer in the civil service, if members of staff under your authority go for an official assignment, and you decide to cut back the allowance that is meant for them; that money you cut out of their allowance for yourself is evil money.

If the people you oppress because of their lower status cry to the Lord, God will count your action as a sin against you and punish you severely for it. (Deuteronomy 24:14-15).

Leviticus 19:13 says,
Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

That is how strict God is concerning the issue of workers’ wages. You are not even permitted to keep it till the next day except for situations beyond control. The wages of hired servants is not permitted to remain unpaid till the next day after their service.

Workers’ wages held back is evil money; it is unrighteous money. We live in a generation where many people are experts in this evil practice (Deuteronomy 24:15).

There are people, no matter the business they do, you must have complaints from their partners, clients and all the parties they deal with.

Beloved, money gotten by defrauding people is evil money. Desist from fraudulent practices and lifestyle.

Remember this: Any money made from defrauding people or organizations is evil money.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Refuse to defraud people. Refuse to take what is not yours.
2. Have nothing to do with the proceeds of fraud.
3. Steer clear of breaking financial agreements or business contracts you make with people.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your Word to me today. Deliver me from the temptation of fraudulent practices and lifestyle, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Whenever the Word of God is preached, there is a transfer and impartation of the Spirit of God.

SCRIPTURE: And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me. Ezekiel 2:2.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whenever the Word of God is preached, there is a transfer and impartation of the Spirit of God.

It has been confirmed that one way to connect and experience the Glory of God is through the impartation of the Spirit of God. 

Impartation is a situation where you bring yourself under a higher spiritual atmosphere where ‘something’ can drop on you. The impartation of the Spirit is key to manifesting the Glory of God.

It is very important to know that the impartation of the Spirit of God happens through the preaching of the Word of God.  When you come under the cloud of the Word of God being preached by someone who is higher than you spiritually, you are set to manifest the Glory of God.

John 6:63 says: 

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Whenever the Word of God is preached, there is a transfer and impartation of Spirit. When you listen to messages, there is a transfer of the Spirit of God. 

Many years ago, a young pastor met me and asked me what to do in order to preach like I do. I told him to hang around. And as he stayed around me, there was an impartation; the Spirit of God landed on him and he exploded.

Beloved, the impartation of the Spirit is real. Hunger for the Word and honour for your prophet provoke the impartation of the Spirit of God.

I decree that you shall walk in the realm of greater exploits and glory, in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS: Whenever the Word of God is preached, there is a transfer and impartation of the Spirit of God.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Develop hunger for God’s Word and value for your prophet to connect the Spirit of God.

2. Ask God for a fresh wave of the impartation of His Spirit on your life.

DEMOLISHING UNGODLY FOUNDATION AND STRUCTURES

SCRIPTURE: Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in …. and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat …. Joshua 6:1,5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you do not surround will not surrender.

From our anchor scripture, we saw the divinely orchestrated approach that led to the collapse of the walls of Jericho. Jericho here represented an ungodly foundation, structure and installation.

Now, I want you to see three things that are significant about Jericho:

i. Jericho was standing in the way of the inheritance of Israel.

ii. Jericho represented the blockage of access to the destiny of Israel.

iii. Jericho represented a foundation or structure that was in the custody of the Israelites’ inheritance.

Now, let us look at three keys to handling satanic structures.

i. Prophetic instructions and impact. (Joshua 6:6-7). God, through Joshua, brought instruction to the Israelites concerning the wall of Jericho and that instruction produced a result; the wall of Jericho was destroyed.

ii. Aggressive confrontation of all satanic installations. (Joshua 6:6-17).

Whatever is not confronted can never be conquered. What you do not surround will not surrender. God told the Israelites to surround Jericho so that it can surrender. So, when we surround satanic installations with prayer, Word, power and fire, they surrender.

iii. Militant praise and worship. It was aggressive militant praise that destroyed the wall of Jericho (Joshua 6:20). Praise also opens prison doors (Acts 16:25).

Beloved, every ungodly structure of hell in possession of your inheritance, every evil ancestral foundation blocking you from your inheritance or from fulfilling your destiny, today, they are destroyed, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: What you do not surround will not surrender.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

1. Confront what is against you with prayer, Word, praise and fire and anticipate their collapse.

2. Value the prophetic cover over your life and believe the prophetic decrees he makes over your life.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You because nothing can hinder Your plan, purpose and provisions for my life. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I command anything trying to block my access to my destiny and possessions to be scattered!

TOPIC: VIBRANCY IN THE SPIRIT – A TRIGGER OF LOVE

SCRIPTURE: For [if it were possible] I would wish that I myself were accursed, [separated, banished] from Christ for the sake [of the salvation] of my brothers, my natural kinsmen. Romans 9:3, AMP

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Flowing in the Spirit is flowing in love.

Our anchor Scripture tells us about Paul the Apostle who was expressing his willingness to go to hell if that could make Israel to be saved. That is, ‘Lord, I wish You could send me to hell and save Israel. Cut me off from Christ; send me to hell if that can make You save the Jews.’ He prayed the same kind of prayer that Moses prayed in Exodus 32:32. What a heart! Is it easy to pray such a prayer? Not many mortal human beings can pray such a prayer.

Now, what was the secret of Paul the Apostle? What gave him access to such high level of love?

In 1 Corinthians 14:18, Paul the apostle said, I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all. 

And in Ephesians 16:18, he said, Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit….Paul the Apostle was a man of the Spirit.

It is important to note that praying always in the Spirit, vibrancy in the Spirit is one of the factors that facilitate the growth of love. Throughout scripture, it is clearly revealed that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of love (Romans 5:5, 2Timothy 1:7, Galatians 5:22). Flowing in the Spirit is flowing in love; if you are doing it genuinely, it is love irrigation. The Holy Ghost irrigates our hearts with the love of God.

Beloved, any tongue you are speaking and you don’t love people – you rejoice when people fail, you are happy when people lose their job; that holy ghost that you claim to manifest in you through speaking in tongue must be another ghost, not the Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of love. 

Remember this: Flowing in the Spirit is flowing in love.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

1. Take out time to pray abundantly in the Spirit.

2. Ask the Holy Ghost to irrigate your heart with the love of Christ.

3. Refuse to be recruited into bitterness with someone.

SCRIPTURE: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is the perfect Will of God for us to be in perfect health and vitality. 

The Scripture makes it clear that it is the Will of God for us to live in health. 

3 John and verse 2 says,

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

It is the perfect Will of God for us to be in perfect health and vitality. 

However, once in a while, people slip into ill-health. At times, it may be due to carelessness. For example, someone may over eat or eat carelessly. Eating the wrong combination of food may cause ill-health. Also someone might overexpose himself to cold, walking bare-chested in winter; it could cause ill-health.

People can also slip into ill-health due to disobedience.

The guilt of iniquity can also open the door for ill-health. Sickness can also be caused by enemy confrontations or attacks by the enemy.

These and others are the reasons why someone may fall sick. 

Now, there are provisions God has made available for total recovery and victory if one slipped into ill-health. I will give you just a few of them:

1. Confession and forgiveness of sins (James 5:15-16). 

Confession and forgiveness of sins is key to Divine healing and health.

2.  The prayer of faith. 

The prayer of faith is where someone who is strong in faith is standing in prayer on the behalf of somebody who is afflicted. (James 5:14).

3. The Word of faith or the declaration of the Word (Joel 3:10, Mark 11:23).

Speaking and talking to any symptom of disease in your body on a consistent basis is a channel of Divine healing and health. 

My counsel is, apply these channels of Divine healing and health to live in perfect health always. 

Remember this: It is the perfect Will of God for us to be in perfect health and vitality. 

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Refuse to do anything that will attract sickness to you.

2. Apply the channels of Divine healing outlined above to live in perfect health.

TOPIC: *WRONG REASONS FOR GOING TO CHURCH*

Our primary and major reason for going to church is to worship God like the apostles who met daily in the temple praising God.

SCRIPTURE: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Our primary and major reason for going to church is to worship God like the apostles who met daily in the temple praising God.

In life, I have discovered that every undertaking becomes outstanding with understanding. This means, to have a successful and outstanding undertaking in life, there must be a depth of understanding or knowledge about that undertaking. Therefore, if there is no understanding, no undertaking can be outstanding.

Today, many people go to church for many reasons, and based on this fact, I will like to identify different categories of people that go to church:

1. People who go to church for Religious Purpose 

One major reason some people go to church is to fulfil a religious obligation or to perform religious activities or rituals. This is the category of people that see church as a place for mere religious activities. They have no deep spiritual attachment or commitment to church. They see mere physical activities as the only basis for going to or belonging to a particular church. 

2. Those who go to Church for Socialization

Other people go to church for socialization. They see church as a place to socialize with other people. They go to church with the mind-set of meeting one friend or the other and not God. Socialization is their driving force for going to church.

3. Those who go to Church Because of the Challenges of Life

There is yet another group of people who go to church because of the problems or challenges of life. These are the people who go to church only in search of miracles, blessings, prosperity and breakthroughs in life. 

You see, all these are not the primary reasons for going to church. What then is the primary reason for going to Church? 

Our primary and major reason for going to church is to worship God like the apostles who met daily in the temple praising God (Acts 2:46-47).

Remember this: Our primary and major reason for going to church is to worship God like the apostles who met daily in the temple praising God.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Refuse to go to church for the wrong reasons.

2. Go to church for the purpose of worshipping and praising God in truth and in spirit.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for opening my eyes to see why I must go to church. I receive the grace and discipline to come to church only for the right reason, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

What you refuse to take illegally today prepares the ground for what is yours legally tomorrow.

SCRIPTURE: So Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative responsibility over everything he owned. With Joseph there, he didn't worry about a thing—except what kind of food to eat! Joseph was a very handsome and well-built young man. Genesis 39:6 (NLT).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you refuse to take illegally today prepares the ground for what is yours legally tomorrow.

Positive example has been confirmed to be an effective communicator of positive principle. The Scripture is full of positive examples of people who were positively affected by financial integrity or uprightness. It is very important to learn from them in order to live right. These are people who refused to take money or possession illegally or through unrighteous means. 

Previously, we looked at Abraham.

Today, we shall look at Joseph.

Genesis 39:6,

So Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative responsibility over everything he owned. With Joseph there, he didn't worry about a thing—except what kind of food to eat! Joseph was a very handsome and well-built young man.

Potiphar left everything he had in the hands of Joseph. He seemed to have told him, “Joseph, I leave everything I have in your hands. You are in charge of my estate. Take charge of my group of companies. Every financial decision is yours to make”. 

And you know, nothing missed in the hands of Joseph. That is integrity.

This behaviour of Joseph is contrary to the attitude of the kind of people we have today in our world. You can’t even leave someone with One Million Naira to buy an item and he returns the balance of the money to you. But with Joseph, it was not so. 

Beloved, what you refuse to take illegally today prepares the ground for what is yours legally tomorrow (Genesis 41:39-41). Joseph was promoted and became the prime minister of Egypt partly because he maintained financial uprightness in the house of Potiphar.

Remember this: What you refuse to take illegally today prepares the ground for what is yours legally tomorrow.

ASSIGNMENTS: 

1. Make up your mind to maintain financial uprightness by all means.

2. Avoid the way of crookedness by all means. 

PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the grace to be upright in life. Deliver me from every crooked way of life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

SERVICE – A KEY TO INSIGHT

TOPIC: *SERVICE – A KEY TO INSIGHT.*

Serving God is key to insight. God reveals secrets to servants, faithful servants.

SCRIPTURE: My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold:…Numbers 12:7-8

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Serving God is key to insight. God reveals secrets to servants, faithful servants. 

It has been established that insight in God’s Word is important to accessing the treasures of God’s Word. What is not opened to you is not there for you. What is not opened to you cannot be accessed by you.

Now, one secret of insight is service. Serving God is key to insight. God reveals secrets to servants, faithful servants. 

Psalm 25:14 says,

The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Fear here implies reverential worship which also translates into service.

Covenant means testament. And we have the old covenant (or testament), and the new covenant (or testament) revealed to and written by proven servants of God.

You see, in the generation of Moses, nobody served God like him. And no one had access to Scriptures or knew God like Moses in his generation.

Moses alone wrote the Books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. He wrote and described Creation that happened when he was not born. He wasn’t there when God created the heavens and the earth but God gave him back sight or hindsight. God rewound time and gave Moses access to see the past, all because the Bible referred to him as the servant of the Lord. 

Deuteronomy 34:5 says,

So Moses the servant of the Lord…

Beloved, you cannot be the servant of the Lord and not understand the secrets of the Lord. There are different platforms of serving God in the House of God. My counsel is, serve God in aggressive evangelism. Serve God by saturating your neighbourhood with the glory of the Lord in the home church. It is for your benefit to serve God, not for His benefit. 

Remember this: Serving God is key to insight. God reveals secrets to servants, faithful servants. 

ASSIGNMENTS:

Spiritual fatherhood has been confirmed to be a key facilitator of destiny actualization. 

We see this fact clearly demonstrated in the Scripture. For instance, Jesus needed to be baptized by John the Baptist for His Destiny and Ministry to be fulfilled. When He came to John to be baptized, John forbade Him. But Jesus seemed to to have told him, “Suffer it to be so for this is the spiritual order and protocol. Suffer it to be so to fufill all righteousness.” (Matthew 3:14-15).

Your spiritual father is your spiritual ladder to get to your desired height in life. Your spiritual father is your spiritual feather for flight. Spiritual fatherhood gives you an allocation of the feather you need to take off from where you are to where you need to go. Spiritual fatherhood gives you the capacity to see farther in life. Your personal vision is limited. This is why the Bible makes it clear that young men shall see vision while the old men shall dream dreams (Joel 2:28). Vision is foresight while dream is insight. Your spiritual father gives insight to your foresight. Your spiritual father gives details into what you thought you knew.

My counsel is, never take your spiritual covering for garnted. Every attempt to bite the finger that feeds you can make you die of hunger. Don’t muddle the water that quenches your thirst otherwise, you die of thirst. Maintain value for spiritual cover.

Remember this: Your spiritual father is your spiritual ladder to get to your desired  height in life.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A Costless service is a profitless service.

Cost or sacrifice is key to acceptable and profitable service in the Kingdom. There are people who are not willing to serve God sacrificially. They are married to convenience and ease. They are not willing to pay any price for the sake of God. Beloved, it is a temptation when people make you serve God without any cost.

A costless service is a profitless service. It doesn’t matter how many times you come to church or what you do in church, if your service to God does not touch your treasures, your harvest is not in view.   

Exodus 10:9 says: And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the Lord.

And you must understand that whatever does not have your treasure cannot have your heart. 

Matthew 6:21 confirms this: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Your money will always go where your heart is. For example, whenever a man’s heart leaves his wife and goes after a strange woman, his money flows in that direction. His wife and children may be starving at home, but he is servicing another woman who has captured his heart. 

Beloved, determine never to serve God without a cost. Overcome that temptation because a costless service is a profitless service.

Remember this: A costless service is a profitless service.

Uprightness of life is a major key to outstanding existence in life and destiny. One aspect of uprightness is financial integrity. The Scripture gives us examples of people who were positively affected by financial integrity or uprightness. These were people who refused to take money or possession by unrighteous means. And it is good to look at their example for our learning and admonition.

Abraham was one of such persons. 

Genesis 14:22, 23 says, And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, That I will not take from a thread even to a shoe latchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich.

Abraham made up his mind not to touch what was not his. He even refused to take what the king of Sodom legally gave to him, out of spiritual consideration and principle. And as a result of his financial integrity, the Scripture made it clear that Abraham was very rich in cattle, in silver and in gold (Genesis 13:2).

Genesis 24:1 says, And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.”

His secret was his refusal to take what was not his. He refused to take what God did not give him. He refused to take what labour or favour did not give him. Financial uprightness is a secret of financial prosperity.

Beloved, it is financial uprightness not to take what you were not given. It is crookedness to take what you are not licensed to take.

Remember this: Financial uprightness is a secret of financial prosperity.

Envy is a manifestation of the bankruptcy of love.

SCRIPTURE: …charity envieth not…1 Corinthians 13:4

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Envy is a manifestation of the bankruptcy of love.

The Scripture makes it clear that love is the nature of God (1 John 4:8). 

Now, one of the characteristics of love is that love does not envy (1 Corinthians 13:4). This means, envy is a manifestation of the bankruptcy of love. 

I would like you to take note of the following points on love that envieth not:

1. Love never boils over with jealousy.

The Amplified Version puts 1 Corinthians13:4 this way:

…love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy,

Love is not envious. Love does not boil over with jealousy. It is wickedness for a person in business to push away his fellow from the same business because he thinks he deserves the business better.

Also, it is wickedness for a strange woman to step into the family of a happily married couple, and drive the wife out just to inherit both the man and his properties. When love is absent, wickedness is in place.

2. Love does not give in to covetousness. 

Love does not give in to covetousness that results in jealousy. Love doesn’t wish that what others have was theirs.

People who love do not wish that what others have was theirs. It is good to appreciate great things in the lives of people and trust God for similar things. But it is not good to wish that you are the one who has what others have. That is wickedness. Love does not envy.

Remember this: Envy is a manifestation of the bankruptcy of love.

Destiny fulfilment is not just a function of physical ability. It is not just physical ability that determines destiny; rather, it is ability plus connectivity to a higher mantle that determine productivity in destiny. It is possible to be talented and be resisted and frustrated, but you cannot be connected to a higher mantle and be resisted by lower devils.

Beloved, what backs you determines what you can face. 

Sometime ago, the husband of one of the couples who usually come from Europe to attend our conferences died. So, the wife placed one of our stickers with the message: “There Shall Be No Loss” on him. And immediately, the man came back to life. 

You see, it is not the size of the vehicle that determines its speed; it is the capacity of its engine. Your spiritual father is like a spiritual engine. Doing things yourself is like paddling a canoe. That way, your speed is limited. But when you connect to a spiritual cover, you are like a speed boat. 

This is the difference between Joseph and his brothers. Joseph had the backing of his father. His father imparted him with a mantle which was the coat of many colours, and that prophetically predicted his colourful destiny.

You know, as anointed as Jesus was, He had to come under the cover of John the Baptist. He created John the Baptist, yet He could not function until he submitted Himself to the Ministry of John the Baptist who was the the known prophet at the time. It takes a known prophet to reveal the voice of an unknown prophet. So, make up your mind to submit to a prophetic cover for the elevation of your life and destiny.

Remember this: It is ability plus connectivity to a higher mantle that determine productivity.

Every time you see a commander in the Kingdom of God, wisdom is at work.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every time you see a commander in the Kingdom of God, wisdom is at work. 

Wisdom has been confirmed to be a capital requirement for accessing the realm of authority in life. Wisdom is needed for a person to be in command spiritually and physically. Wisdom is the secret of being in control in any realm of life. 

Every time you see a commander in the Kingdom of God, wisdom is at work. For example, Jacob commanded wealth and resources by the Wisdom of God. Joseph was in charge of the wealth of Egypt by the Wisdom of God. You know, Joseph was in prison for many years but the Mercy of God brought him out and the Wisdom of God kept him out. He could have returned to the prison if not for the Wisdom of God at work in his life.

In the Book of Genesis 41:33, Joseph interpreted the dreams for Pharaoh, and by the Wisdom of God, he gave Pharaoh the solution to his dreams.

Genesis 41:33 says,

Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

After this, the king made Joseph a commander of wealth and resources in Egypt at the frequency of Divine Wisdom.

Please, take note of this: if you are not where you ought to be in life, it is not because the economy is hard or that the devil is powerful. Rather, you might be where you are because of a deficiency of wisdom. 

Beloved, if God should give you an insight or a revelation from Scriptures, that insight or revelation becomes the answer to every affliction. This is because every revelation carries the unction to terminate afflictions. 

Remember this: Every time you see a commander in the Kingdom of God, wisdom is at work.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your passion is a pointer to your purpose.

Our anchor Scripture reveals that God planned your life before you were born. That is to say, your purpose precedes your creation. God planned and programmed your arrival on the earth before you were born.

Jeremiah 1:5 says, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.  

Now, the question is: what are the pointers to destiny? What are the things that point a person to purpose?  How do you discover God’s Purpose for your life? 

1. Passion (Nehemiah 1:1-4) 

Your passion is a pointer to your purpose. What you are passionate about can lead you to your destiny.

2. Affection (John 9:4)

What is established in your heart, what you love doing, has a connection with what you will live doing. 

3. Potential (1 Samuel 16:16a, 23)

What you have been wired to do points you to your purpose and destiny.

4. Revelation (Luke 4:16-22)

What God shows you or the kind of dreams that keep coming to you is a pointer to what you will do with your life.

5. Impression (Acts 7:23).

This is what comes to your heart. It is a pointer to destiny fulfilment.

6. Wisdom (Genesis 41:39,40).

The area of your wisdom is the area of your stardom.

Beloved, make up your mind to pay attention to the pointers of destiny above so you can fulfil your destiny.

Remember this: Your passion is a pointer to your purpose.

TOPIC: THE POWER OF LOVE

SCRIPTURE: Even if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, I would still be worth nothing at all without love. (1 Corinthians 13:2b-TLB).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your faith cannot enhance your worth in life without love.

It has been confirmed that Love is so powerful that it can attract the Presence of God to a person. God is love (1 John 4:8). Love is the nature of God.  Therefore, to love is to experience God.

Today, we shall be looking at two powers of love.

1.  Faith adds no value without love

The Living Bible says,

Even if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, I would still be worth nothing at all without love. (1 Corinthians 13:2bTLB)

A man’s faith will add no value to his life without love. This means, your faith cannot enhance your worth in life without love. It doesn’t matter what level of faith you operate in, if love is absent, your worth will be lacking. It will be as if you are lying against God that you believe in Him. 

3. Giving is unprofitable without love

1 Corinthians 13:3 says,

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Giving is unprofitable without love. It is possible to give without loving people, maybe, to create an impression. But it is not possible to love without giving. When you love, you give! 

Giving without loving cannot guarantee desired results.  A person may be a tither, a sower, or a giver but if he is bitter against people, his giving profits nothing. 

Beloved, make up your mind to refuse to walk in hatred. Live the Love life.

Remember this: Your faith cannot enhance your worth in life without love.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to love genuinely and unconditionally.

2. Let love undergird all spiritual activities.

SEEDS OF DESTINY - SATURDAY 24 JULY, 2021

TOPIC: BEING A PERSON OF CONVICTION

SCRIPTURE: …and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report. Genesis 37:2.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: People of conviction know what they want out of life, but people of consensus only follow what other people do.

We saw in our previous studies that taking a stand against evil even if you have to stand alone (Genesis 37:2), is one wisdom key to learn from the life of Joseph.

This means refusing to follow the multitude to do evil. This is because until you stand for something, you can fall for anything. If you don’t stand for something, you can fall and probably die for nothing.

In this world, there are two groups of people: The first group are people of conviction and the second are people of consensus. 

People of conviction know what they want out of life, but people of the consensus only follow what other people do. People of conviction are consequential, but people of consensus are inconsequential on earth. Their lives matter for nothing. 

You know, being a person of conviction may make you appear controversial, especially to people of conformity and compromise. They will ask you, “Who do you think you are? Are you the only one going to church? Everyone is doing it.”

Sometime ago, a sister said, some people who claimed to be born again Christians advised her not to carry church on her head. Just because she was a person of conviction, they saw her attitude towards her faith as extreme.

Beloved, it is better to be controversial than to be inconsequential. That was what Archbishop Benson Idahosa (of blessed memory) once said.

It is better to be misunderstood doing the right thing, than to die as a nonentity. Those who follow the crowd get lost in the crowd but those who take a stand, stand out in life.

Remember this: People of conviction know what they want out of life, but people of the consensus only follow what others are doing.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to take a stand for God and righteousness even if you will appear controversial to people.

2. Be a person of conviction.

TOPIC: SERVICE – WAITING ON THE MASTER FOR INSTRUCTIONS

Service involves waiting on the Master for instructions.

SCRIPTURE: His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. John 2:5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Service involves waiting on the Master for instructions.

In our earlier studies we saw that service is a covenant just like the covenant of supernatural supply. Our anchor Scripture reveals that if we serve the Lord, He shall bless our bread and water. This means, if you do your part in serving God, you don’t need to beg Him to do His part in blessing you.

You know, as long as the earth remains, seed-time and harvest shall not cease (Genesis 8:22). If there is a seed time, you don’t need to beg for harvest time. In the same way, if there is a service to God, there must be a blessing from God.

Now, what is kingdom service all about? 

1. Service involves waiting on the master for instructions.

Service involves waiting on the Master like Apostle Paul when he said to Jesus Christ, Lord, what wilt thou have me do? Acts 9:6

At the wedding in Cana of Galilee, when they ran out of wine, there were people on standby waiting to be sent. They were called servants. Mary the mother of Jesus said to the servants, “Whatsoever he said unto you, do it.” (John 2:5).

This is the heart disposition of a true servant. It is the heart that says, “Lord, I don’t own myself, my time, and my resources. You made me for yourself. I am available. I am ready. I am on standby to run your errand”. 

This is what it means to wait for the master’s instructions.

Remember this: Service involves waiting on the master for instructions.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to serve God totally and wholeheartedly. 

2. Wait on the Master, Jesus Christ for instructions. 

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to serve You dedicatedly. Help me to always wait on You for instruction and direction, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: PUTTING GOD FIRST - A DIMENSION OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD

Until first things are put first in your life, everything else will be out of order.

SCRIPTURE: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Until first things are put first in your life, everything else will be out of order. 

Our anchor Scripture reveals that seeking God and His Kingdom should be the priority of every child of God. A true child of God is one who seeks the prosperity of the Kingdom of God. 

Now, one way to fear or show reverence to God is putting Him first in life. I want you to take note of the following key thoughts:

1. Until first things are put first, everything else will be out of order (Matthew 6:33). 

The fear of the Lord is making God the first priority of your life. Until first things are put first in your life, everything else will be out of order. 

2. It is foolishness to live independent of God (John 15:5) 

It is foolishness and disaster to live as if you are the owner of your life. When you live independent of God, you can do nothing. To live independent of God is to be like a withered tree that men cast into the fire to be burnt (John 15:6).

3. It is unprofitable to live with self as the centre of life

It is unprofitable living when your life is centred around yourself. That was what Solomon did when he forgot the ways of wisdom. He kept on marrying many wives and buying many things. At the end, he said, vanity upon vanity, all is vanity (Ecclesiastes 12:8). This means, emptiness multiplied by emptiness equals emptiness. This is how useless it is for a life to be centred on the flesh.

Make up your mind to put God first in your life and live only for Him.

Remember this: Until first things are put first in your life, everything else will be out of order. 

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to put God first in all that you do. 

2. Seek the prosperity of the Kingdom of God always.

PRAYER: I receive the grace, Lord, to put You first in my life. Help me to pursue the prosperity of Your Kingdom, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
